London, London Mint, Golden Jubilee style bust facing left, designed by J Edgar Boehm, small crown and veil on head, pearl earring with pearl necklace, I.E.B. initials close together raised on truncation with imperfect J.
Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. struck en medaille, crowned quartered high shield of arms, date below either side of bottom of frame, legend commences lower left with toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF: edge milled, weight 4grms (DISH L508; Marsh 478; S.3869).
With original mint bloom and Extremely Fine, small scratch behind bust.
The Latin legends translates on obverse as “Victoria by the Grace of God,” and on the reverse “Queen of the Briton’s, Defender of the Faith.”
